Uhuru meets Maa leaders at State house

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday met with a cross section of Maa community leaders at State House, Nairobi.

In a statement PPS indicated that the leaders led by Environment Cabinet Secretary Keriako Tobiko discussed matters touching on the progress of the Maa Community.

The leaders who included women and youth leaders were accompanied by Devolution PS Charles Sunkuli, his Planning counterpart Saitoti Torome and Narok North MP Moitalel Ole Kenta.

Wiper and Ford Kenya party leaders Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula also held consultative meeting with Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku at the home of the late veteran politician John Keen at Namanga.

The meeting was also attended by acting Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu Mwenda and representatives of Keen’s family.

The leaders lauded the appointment of Dr.Peter Mathuki as the Secretary of East African Business Council based in Arusha Tanzania. The leaders said there should be deeper integration between the two countries Kenya and Tanzania.

At the same time Lenku’s political rival Kajiado East MP Peris Tobiko( Jubilee) and Kajiado Central MP Elijah Memusi(ODM) also met ODM Party leader Raila Odinga at Karen,Nairobi.

Lenku has had several meetings with Kalonzo, according to political analysts the governor might join the ONE KENYA ALLIANCE (OKA) .The coalition partners are ┬áKalonzo, ANC’s Musalia Mudavadi , KANU’s Gideon Moi and Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetangula.

The governor has however maintained that he has been meeting the leaders since OKA is in “Handshake Alliance.” He said he will join a coalition that will form a government in 2022 and is still a Jubilee member.

During a TV interview recently the governor said his only political threat in 2022 gubernatorial race is former governor David ole Nkedianye and not Kajiado South MP Katoo ole Metito.
