UDA Party:Our house is not divided and our speaker is Ngossor

The United Democratic Alliance Party has said their MCAs are not divided on choice of speaker . The party has confirmed that all its MCAs will vote their candidate who is former Ewuaso Ward MCA Ngossor Justus Kilesi.

The Party commands majority MCAs positions in the assembly it has 13 elected MCAs, ODM has 8, Wiper and Jubilee which are in Azimio la Umoja have 2 each.

UDA will have additional MCAs 10 nominated MCAs, while ODM will get 4 ,Wiper and Jubilee will get 1 seat each.

Ngossor says their house is not divided and all UDA MCAs will support him. He said his competitors have been spreading lies that their housw is divided.

The former MCA who spoke with County Press said the assembly will be ready to offer oversight to the county government executive under his leadership.

`Our Party is united ,am in contact with all MCAs and we are waiting for the nominated MCAs,’ he said.

Kajiado County Kenya Kwanza coordinator Gilbert Mutura said the MCAs are not divided on the issue,they had settled on Ngossor as their speaker.

The speaker will be elected by majority MCAs and UDA is expected to take the position.

ODM Party had picked deputy clerk at the county assembly  Kipampi Ntele and lawyer Koin Lompo to face Ngossor.

Governor Joseph ole Lenku of ODM Party supports Lompo and is targeting some UDA MCAs to change their mind and support his candidate.

The election of the speaker will be done after the gazettement of nominated MCAs and swearing in of all the MCAs 25 elected and nominated who will be 16.The 16 comprises of 12 gender top up and 4 who will be from marginalised, youth, women and those living with disabilities.

The nominated MCAs will be gazetted next week. Their first role will be electing their speaker after getting sworn in.

The Speaker, who is an ex officio member of the County Assembly, is elected by the County Assembly from among persons who are not members of the Assembly.
