Two Arrested in Connection with Murder of Rongai Boda Boda Rider

Two people have been arrested by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives in connection with the killing of Ongata Rongai  boda boda operator in Nakuru County on Monday evening.

The suspects David Salun and Saitoti Ole Munak were arrested in Rongai and taken to Naivasha Police station for interrogation.

The deceased bodaboda operator, who was identified as Hesbon Bichanga 30 year old, was killed and his body dumped in Kiket centre near Mai Mahiu town.

According to a witness who sought anonymity the deceased was allegedly picked from Rongai by two people who wanted to be taken to Narok, the two had approached several motorcycle operators seeking to be ferried to Narok.

He said the deceased’s motorbike was fuelled in a petrol station near Exciting in Rongai in the evening and he informed his friends about the journey before leaving to Narok County,

The suspects are said to be casual laborers of a local administrator. They were arrested after bodaboda operators stormed residence of the administrator demanding for their arrest.

Ongata Rongai Bodaboda Division chairperson Alex Gitare said police should ensure families of the deceased get justice.

“The bodaboda operators had to storm the home to demand arrest of the suspects we want thorough investigation to stop such incidents in the future,” he said.

Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru confirmed the incident; he said detectives recovered bloodied clothes from the suspects’ house in Rongai.

The detectives had taken the cloths and other items from the suspects’ house for DNA analysis to help in the murder probe.Share on social media
