Environment and Forestry Cabinet Secretary Keriako Tobiko has ordered Kenya Forest Service and other stakeholders to formulate a team that would see the developing of Ngong Hills Forest Collaborative Framework to fast-track the development of a master plan and identify ways that will transform the Ngong Hills Forest.
The CS who had toured the forest said the transformation will benefit the community and increase the value of the forest.
Tobiko said no livestock will be allowed into the forest, so as to ensure the protection of the critical water catchment area.
During celebration of Africa Public Service Day the Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Cabinet Secretary Margaret Kobia said her ministry will help conserve Ngong Hills water tower by planting and maintaining trees.
Meanwhile the KFS through Ngong Hill Forest Station has partnered with Go -Green club for weekends clean -up exercise of the forest.
