Six hundred title deeds have been issued to residents of Naisoya in Narok North Sub County after a 46-year court battle.

Narok County Commissioner Evans Achoki issued the title deeds to the residents and cautioned that they should not be a source of new conflicts.

“Residents have receivd their titles after a very long period of disagreements amongst themselves but it should not be a reason for land clashes and boundary disputes,” said Achoki.

He asked them to visit the lands registrar office for proper clarification and mapping should any disputes arise.

“If you start fighting over disputes, my office will arrest all those that will incite the clashes,” he added.

The Narok Chambers of Commerce Chairman David Mpatiany said he was glad that the efforts to demarcate Naisoya had not gone in vain.

He said his father died while trying to push for the sub-division of the area and he was happy to see that his efforts were too not in vain.
