Kajiado North Sub County residents who attended public participation forums for 2018/2019 financial year at the ward level have urged the County Government to give priority to tarmacking of roads in the area.
The locals urged the Government to start tarmacking roads, saying murraming of roads was expensive in the long run.
“Besides murraming the road promotes corruption as some contractors sometime demand payment for shoddy work.
In Ngong, the locals proposed that funds to be channeled to the area for tarmac of a 2km stretch of road.
They said poor drainage had contributed to the deterioration of roads making them completely impassable during rains.
“The town is always flooded whenever it rains, forcing business people to incur huge losses as they are forced to close their businesses to avert more tragedies,” noted a resident.
In Rongai Ward in the last financial year locals had allocated funds that led to ongoing tarmacking of Rongai market road.
Funds were also allocated for extension of the road, repair of drainage systemand provision of footpaths.
