Kajiado North Sub County residents have proposed measures which the Kajiado County Government should implement, to reduce waste water menace in the sub county.
In a public participation forum organized by the Department of Medical Services Public Health and Sanitation represented by Chief Officer Eddah Wakapa, the attendees proposed measures which they said support an environment free from liquid and solid waste.
Rongai resident Jacob Wangora said the Government should make exhauster services cheap by procuring exhauster vehicles and reduce taxes imposed on the business.
Daniel Wanjohi who is an environmentalist said the County Government should also allow recycling of waste water.
Those who own bio digesters claimed they have invested millions in installing the equipment and the county should be support such initiatives.
Government has been against the recycling of waste water and releasing it to roads and has been defending itself through Public Health Act Cap 242 which demands all premises owners to contain waste water in their plots.
Meanwhile, Kajiado County has scheduled another meeting to deliberate on how to manage waste, with sanitation topping the agenda.
Stakeholders and residents targeted are those from Kajiado North and Kajiado East Sub Counties.
Ongata Rongai meeting had been scheduled for 9th June 2018, the Ngong meeting on 21st June.
