Residents of Ilntilal area in Loitokitok Sub- county were cut off from the rest of the area after Eyata River burst its banks and swept off the only bridge connecting the area and other regions.
After the incident, locals could not access basic commodities from Kimana. Kajiado County Commissioner David Kipkemei has, however, assured locals that the National Government will supply relief food to
those affected by either drought or floods.
The Commissioner also assured the people around Simba Cement Company area in Loitokitok that they will be rescued after the long rains set in, causing floods in some areas.
The county commissioner called on the County Government and the Red Cross to also assist those affected by the floods.
The residents of Simba Cement area lost some household items to the floods. Simba Cement Company went to their rescue and supplied blankets and food to the victims.
