Oloolaiser Company in blackout again as Tobiko drags Lenku to its misfortunes

Kenya Power has again disconnected electricity supply to Oloolaiser Water and Sewerage Company Limited (OWSC) after failing to honor debt settlement agreement.

This is the fifth time this year the power company is disconnecting power for the troubled company, the power was cut off on Monday morning in Ngong, Matasia, Kiserian and Ongata Rongai stations.

According to a Kenya Power official who sought anonymity they are demanding millions from the firm, the company has failed to pay after several agreements and this time round have been forced to cut off electricity in all its stations.

On Friday Kajiado East Constituency Member of Parliament Peris Tobiko dragged Governor Joseph ole Lenku to the water companyโ€™s misfortunes; she said the Kajiado County Government is involved in issues facing the company.

Tobiko said the county leadership has failed to rescue the company since they has no interest of Kajiado North sub county people at heart, she said the men leadership have failed the county and it is time women take over.

Lenku had disbanded the companyโ€™s board May this year appointing interim board to improve the company’s efficiency.

The company had recently suspended two workers and reshuffled staffs, politicians have been calling for the county to appoint a new Managing Director to rescue the company from its financial challenges.

Water CEC Member Michael Semera had said the current MD is qualified to manage the company.
