Newly launched Narok Eagle Sacco which has been in operation for the past nine months, has embarked on a membership drive that has seen its members increase to 900. The upcoming savings and credit co-operative has made significant achievements including loaning its members Sh 5 million.
According to the Sacco Manager, Mr Dapash Dominic, the Sacco was officially opened on 6th June 2017. “For one to be a member he or she has to pay Sh1000, have national ID or a passport,” he explained.
“I take this opportunity to commend the good work done by the Board members with the co-peration of the staff,” he said.
He highlighted their products and area of focus as farming, loans, trade, education, real estate among many other fields.
“So far we have managed to finance 10 of our members to buy motorbikes as well as getting the dairy cows to boost their earnings,” he added.
“Our members who want motorbikes have to pay a third of the cost of the motorbike using their savings. As a Sacco we give the remaining amount to the member as loan. We are happy to report that so far the loan repayment is good and we are aiming to deliver the product to more of our members this year,” he observed.
The Sacco has many registration outlets in different towns and trading centers within Narok County. The Sacco plans to spread its wings to different parts of the country.
