Narok, drought hit families to receive sh 6k


Narok County Government in partnership with Food Agriculture Organization will support vulnerable families with unconditional cash in Mosiro, Ongata Naado , Ntulele and Nturumeti in Narok East sub county.

Joyce Keshe CECM for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries while addressing press said that drought has affected most families.

Keshe said that they have distributed 8000 bags pellets which is 400 metric tones to pastoralists in the affected areas.

She said that they will supply vaccines for PPR, LSD, CCPB for sheep and goats and CBPP for cattle.

Governor Patrick Ntutu has procured drugs for treating rabies once , all dog owners were called on to vaccinate their dogs.

Kesha concluded by saying that cattle is sold at 20, 00 per cow and 7,000 for the small stock.

Peter Runanu director for Meteorology Department said that there is delay in rain that is on October ,November ,December and it will start raining this week and he commented that after the rains there will be a break leading to 7 day dry spell and the dry spell will continue up to March 2023.
