MP faults three-tier Govt call

By Our Reporter

Nominated MP David ole Sankok has opposed the proposal by the NASA leader Raila Odinga of creating a three-tier government, saying the move will overburden the taxpayer.
Addressing journalists in Narok town Sankok said the only referendum they will support is the one that reduces the wage bill.
The legislator who is a close ally of the Deputy President William Ruto said he will drum up support for a referendum that will reduce the number of MCAs, MPs and Senators.
He said the proponents of the referendum to create a three-tier government were seeking an alternative way of ascending to power after they failed to clinch the presidential seat for over a decade.
He said the Tiaty MP William Kamket’s bill was a ‘still birth’ and will be shot down as soon as it lands at the floor of the House.
The MP however exuded confidence that the Jubilee Memorandum of Undertanding (MOU) between President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP Ruto of 10 years each was still standing despite the recent ‘handshake’.
