Man faces defilement charge

A man has been arraigned in Loitokitok law court charged with defiling his step daughter.

Before Principal Magistrate, Judicaster Nthuku was  Anthony Njuguna  who denied defiling his step daughter on diverse dates between 2012 and October 2020 at Namelok trading centre.

According to the minor, the accused started making advances for sex in 2012 when her mother who is a business woman was not at home.

The minor  told the court how last year the accused used to come to her bedroom while  her other siblings were asleep when her mother was hospitalized for about two weeks

The ordeal continued until last year when the girl gained courage and revealed the matter to her mother after the mother

sensed something a miss with her daughter after both were infected with an urinary tract infection.

The girl was taken to Nairobi Women hospital where she was treated and revealed what she had undergone.

The  accused was arrested later on May 19th, this year after he been on the run since November last year, the court was told.

Janet Mpa Tembo, the investigating officer, told the court the complainant in  the company of her mother and uncle had reported the matter at Loitokitok police station before the suspect’s  his arrest.

The accused has denied the allegations and the case was adjourned to September 28, when the accused will be given a date for submissions.
