Kajiado County Governor Joseph ole Lenku has nominated seven county chief officers and forwarded the list to the county assembly for vetting and approval.
The nominees were selected from among persons competitively sourced and recommended by the County Public Service Board.
The applicants will now be vetted by the county assembly before confirmed, Section 45 (1b) of the County Government Act states that with the approval of the county assembly, the governor will appoint county chief officers.
The nominated officers are Jacqueline Wairimu Mwaninki (Public Health) a position that was left vacant after resignation of Eda Wakapa others are new positions .Francis Tomboi Metian was nominated for Public Service Management and Rose Mumbe Munyambu ( Economic Planning).
Others are Tonic Moraa Aberi (Irrigation and Food Security), Eddy Stanley Kimani Gitau (Urban Development and Housing), Jonathan Kulei (Roads and Transport) and Jackson Angaini Ningori (Culture, Tourism and Wildlife).
The chief officers will be contracted for two years shall be accounting and authorized officers in different departments and shall be responsible to the respective County Executive Committee Members.
