Kimana dispensary gets care centre

Kajiado County Government in collaboration with the APHIA Plus, a non-governmental organization, has opened a comprehensive care centre at Kimana dispensary in Loitokitok Sub-county.
Speaking during the opening of the care centre, Kajiado County health minister Esther Somoire said the facility aims to improve services, besides supporting over 1,000 people living with HIV/Aids. APHIA Plus is an international organization based in the United States of America.
The NGO has also offered other medical facilities including 2 laboratory refrigerators, blood pressure
machines, stethoscopes, maternity kits and cabinet stores to the County Government. APHIA Plus also pledged to renovate and construct two other care centres in Isinya and Kitengela.
According to medical reports from the Ministry of Health there are over 25,000 people living with HIV/Aids in Kajiado County, 5,000 of those in Kajiado South.
