Kajiado County Restoration of Life Centre (RLC) Bishop Henry Omae has been recognized by University of America for his leadership and supporting communities.
He was recognized by being awarded a doctorate for leading communities in advocating rights of children, solving conflicts and leading rescue missions during disasters. He has received congratulatoru messages from leaders around the county.
Dr Omae has worked in the Kajiado County government as vice chairman Kajiado Land Taskforce Committee in 2014 that was mandated to solve land conflicts in the county. The committee report is being implemented by the county.
He is also the chairman Child Protection Network and founder Mwanangu Sacco Limited, a savings Sacco for children and board member Kenya Alliance of Advancement of Children (KAACR).
During his thanks-giving ceremony in RLC in Rongai, he said that he will continue to advocate children rights and ensuring there is a peaceful environment for all. He said the community must take protection of children seriously. The Bishop has been campaigning against early marriage and female genital mutilation.
Ongata Rongai Assistant County Commissioner Susan Ndisya who was among the chief guest during the thanks giving ceremony said the Bishop has been supporting Government officials in solving conflicts in the area.
Nairobi County MCA Margret Mbote said they have been working with the bishop to rescue vulnerable children in the county. The MCA is founder St Paul Children Home in Ongata Rongai.
Former Councilor Ruth Wakapa said besides community work he has been supporting many spiritually. She urged other religious leaders to follow the bishopโs footsteps, ย sentiments that were supported by Action Now Kenya director Irene Kamau.
She said the bishop has supported the community in rescue mission such as the floods and other disasters.
