Former councilor David Gichuru Ndengu is seeking funds for cancer treatment, family members have said.
The 77 year old veteran politician who was a councilor in Kajiado North Constituency in 1980s, has been sick and the family had been informed that he was suffering from cancer and needed treatment.
They said they have been depending on well-wishers for therapies and other emergency services.
They said they are spending a lot of money in his treatment and called for friends and well-wishers to help in contributing funds for his treatment.
Kajiado County Former Councilors Association led by their chairman Peter Kago had visited him in his home in Nkaimurunya Ward. Kago who was accompanied by his colleagues Samuel Maina, Ruth Wakapa, Maina Mutiga and Peter Munene said the treatment is very expensive and will be meeting to plan the way forward.
They will organize a fundraising next month to help raise the funds for treatment. The councilors had applied to the county and national government in 2014 to support them, they are yet to get support from the governments.
