We want a local to head Oloolaiser Water Company, MCAs tell Lenku

Kajiado County Nominated MCA Onesmus Ngogoyo has called on Governor Joseph ole Lenku to appoint a resident of Kajiado North  to head troubled Oloolaiser Water Company.

The MCA said the company has failed to provide services due to  managerial issues, he noted that the company head offices which are in a rented apartment should also be moved to the company premises in Gataka road and the company be restructured, he however said the interim board is chaired by a qualified person.

During a funeral service in Oloolua Rongai ward representative Mwathi Pere and his Oloolua counterpart Njogu Kimemia had said the appointment of MD from Kajiado North will solve issues the company is facing, he said locals have been suffering without water for a long time.

“You should now call for the DCI to investigate the company and find out where they take the money consumers pay,” Pere said on Thursday. Auditing of the firm has been done and the report is now discussed by the company board.

Nominated MCAs Wachuka Mathenge and Jebet Kibor noted that the company has failed in providing services, Wachuka said the company increased water bills without public participation,she said they will have to provide water for six months to convince consumers that they can do the services without interruption.

The MCAs with the governor had attended opening of health center in Rongai Ward.

The governor said he is also disappointed that the company has not been able to clear electricity bills, he said the management should ensure the issue is solved.

“I should be told residents are not getting water because there is no rain but not electricity bills,” Lenku said.

The governor did not comment on appointment of a Managing Director, the company had advertised the position and appointed Dickson Ntikoisa as the new MD.

In an interview with County Press Water CEC Member Michael Semera said the applicants interview was done and Ntikoisa topped by scoring more than 80% and is qualified to lead the company.
