Two Kajiado MCAs test positive for Covid-19

Kajiado County Assembly has recorded two cases of Covid-19 disease, two Members of County Assembly have tested positive for the disease.

Oloolua Ward representative Martin Kimemia had tested positive three weeks ago and has now recovered, she has been in self-isolation.

Kimemia said he had pneumonia and took medication from local chemist but it didn’t work  he had to go for testing, after testing positive he had to isolate himself , his family was also tested and turned  negative.

His close contacts have been tested and turned out negative others are waiting for their results.

“There is stigma people think Covid-19 is a death sentence, we should stop stigmatizing people who have recovered from the virus,” he said.

Another MCA who tested positive for the virus six days ago has been in self-isolation.

He said is asymptomatic and does not not know how he got the virus, has been following government guidelines on how to manage the virus at home.

The MCA who spoke with County Press said he is busy working at home, is grazing his cattle and he will be out in few days

“My family is yet to be tested, the medics are saying they are waiting for test kits, is very risky that kits are not available in this county,” he said.

Kajiado County is among counties with highest cases of Civid-19 in the country, in Ngong more than five people have died of the diseases.

Kajiado County Government results released 5 days ago cumulative confirmed positive cases in the County are 1,068 including 17 deaths. The total number of positive cases who have recovered from the county treatment and isolation facilities is 375.
