In a circular dated January 2022 and titled, Replacement of teachers exiting service in public primary and secondary schools, the teachers who will be recruited will serve on permanent and pensionable terms of service.

The circular also indicates that 2,053 teachers for Primary schools and 892 teachers for secondary schools will be hired.

To qualify for the recruitment, candidates must be Kenyan citizens, holders of P1 certificates in case of primary school and a minimum of diploma for the case of secondary school and must be registered with the teachers’ service commission.

The document further states that preference will be given to those applicants who have not been employed by the teachers’ service commission and that the recruitment exercise is free of charge with candidates being advised to report any fraudulent activity to any nearest TSC office and/ or police station.
