Former Kajiado County senator Peter Mositet has called on Deputy President William Ruto to apologize for 2017 rigged nominations before seeking votes in the county.

Mositet who attended cancer medical treatment fundraising in Kajiado North Sub county for former councilor David Gichuru said the DP was behind rigged nominations that put to power under-performing leaders.

The former senator was responding to senator Philip Mpayeei’s critics who had demanded to know his well about during the fundraising.

“We do not have to blame the young man, those who put him to power must explain to the electorates before seeking votes in 2022,” he said.

Former Olkeri MCA Onesmus  Ngogoyo who lost in 2017 Jubilee nominations but got nominated by the party said is drumming up support for Ruto to take over from President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Mpayeei had dismissed reports that is under performing, missing important events and failing to oversight the Kajiado County Government.

The senator had said is always at the Senate debating on matters touching the nation and Kajiado county people in particular. Sometimes is engaged in endless Senate departmental committee meetings.

Last week he was kicked out of National Cohesion, Equal Opportunity and Regional Integration committee chairmanship position after being accused of incompetence and absenteeism that has rendered the committee toothless and dysfunctional.

Five out of the seven members who attended the closed door session in parliament voted in favour of the motion, two opposed. The committee was recently ranked the least performing in the House.
