Rotary Club donates equipment to Ongata Rongai Hospital

Rotary Club of Ongata Rongai (RCOR) has donated medical
equipment to Ongata Rongai Hospital to boost services in the facility and reduce the financial burden on patients.
The equipment, a Lab incubator, Hot air oven and Phlebotomy were purchased with funds raised through a walk dubbed Walk for Better Life at Ngong Hills. The event is held every
year to raise funds to equip the hospital.
The Rotary Club President, Pamela Mbutia said the equipment will improve medical services offered
to patients.
She said RCOR had in the past undertaken to better the health facility through major walk event, which sees participants conquer the seven hills of Ngong. In the past, RCOR had donated
a full Haemogram machine and a Biochemistry analyzer.
Ongata Rongai residents no longer have to make the 25 km journey to Kenyatta National hospital to have various tests carried out. Furthermore, the services are free.
“It is a great honor to host the event,” said District Governor Rtn. Peter Mbui, also known as Saitoti by the locals at Ongata Rongai health centre.

Assistant Governor Rtn. Joe Githinji, Member of County Assembly James Mwachia and the Assistant Chief Esther Njeri eache planted trees at the hospital.
