Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) has urged the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to promote stagnated teachers in Job Groups C3 and C4.
KUPPET National Chairman Jeremiah Omboko Milemba noted that despite the affected teachers serving in the same job group for a long time and even some of them furthering their studies, TSC was yet to promote them.
Milemba then asked the teachers’ employer to ensure that the anticipated teacher recruitment drive is transparent to avoid corruption, nepotism and favoritism.
The official who doubles as Emuhaya Member of Parliament (MP) suggested that TSC should consider those teachers who graduated earlier in line with President Ruto’s pledge of ensuring recruitment of 30,000 teachers in this Financial Year and at least 180,000 teachers by 2027 in a bid to deal with the acute teachers’ shortage in the country.
