Prepare for East African regional anthem, says Katoo

By Isaac Lenkou
Kajiado South Member of Parliament, Katoo ole Metito, has urged Kenyans to prepare for the East African region anthem.
The legislator challenged teachers to start practising and teaching pupils and students how to sing the anthem.
Katoo was speaking at Rombo Girls Secondary School, where he opened a Sh7million multi-purpose dining hall funded by Kajiado South CDF kitty.
A new curriculum will soon be introduced in all learning institutions in the East African countries, he said, adding: “An East African flag will be raised alongside the Kenyan flag since we have become one community.”
He said a common passport will be issued to citizens allowing the holder free movement in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan.
The MP asked administrators to start flying the region’s flag alongside the Kenyan one, since the head of state had authorized the move recently.
Katoo was accompanied by Loitokitok Deputy County Commissioner Abdirasack Jaldesa.
