Man mauled to death by lions in Tuala, Ongata Rongai

A middle aged man was eaten by lions at Tuala, Oloosirkon Ward Kajiado East Constituency today morning.

The lions devoured the whole body including the head, leaving a piece of his leg with a white sock on and a piece of the forearm.

The man’s body parts were found on Monday morning by passersby at a bridge near Nazarene University, a few kilometers from Ongata Rongai town.

Tuala resident James Kuria said the lions may have attacked the man who is yet to be night or morning hours.

He said area residents live in fear because the animals have been roaming in their premises for a long time now with authorities ignoring their complaints.

A local administrator said they have identified the man , the Kenya Wildlife Service personnel had taken the body parts away.

Prides of lions from Nairobi National Park have been roaming in residential areas since last month creating a lot of fear among residents.

Kenya Wildlife Service Strategic Communication Specialist Paul Udoto had said that the lions had been driven back to the park for the safety of the residents.
