Kajiado County Governor Joseph ole Lenku has replaced County Finance, Economic Planning and ICT County Executive Committee Member Alais Kisota with Lands, Urban Development and Physical Planning CECM Hamilton Parseina.
Alais has been in the treasury department for three months, he had replaced Michael Semera who was moved to water department.
Kisota who hails from Lenku’s political backyard Loitokitok has been pushing for implementation of land rates which has seen protests from many land owners.
He had maintained that the rates have to be paid and if the valuation was to be done the rates will increase, MCAs had accused the CECM of failing to consult them when implementing the new rates. The governor later issued a waiver to the land owners.
Is not clear if the CECM was fired or is to be moved to another department. The governor press unit indicated that “the fate of Mr Kisota will be communicated later. The change takes effect immediately.”
This is the third reshuffle this year by the governor; two weeks ago he moved Alvin Kimani who was serving as CEC Member for Gender, Social Services, Youth and Sports to Trade, Cooperatives and Enterprise Development. He was replaced Florence Waiganjo.
During an event in Ngong Lenku issued a warning to offices who he said have failed to ensure his projects are completed on time , he said some officers will go to let others who are ready to work for the people do the work.
