Law firm threatens to file bankruptcy case against Nkedianye over sh 4M debt

A law firm is demanding former Kajiado County governor Dr David Nkedianye to pay debts dating back to 2013.

The Agina and Associates Advocates demands the gubernatorial candidate to pay them Ksh 4.4 million amount due on costs with respect to High Court Civil Appeal number 45 and 27 both of 2013.

The statutory demand filled in the High Court in Kajiado is dated 3rd June 2022

`Failure by the governor to pay the amount shall result in Agina Advocates filling for a bankruptcy order against your estate,’ part of the notice read.

The governor was not available for a comment.

When a person is declared  bankrupt the property of such a person vests in the bankruptcy trustee or official receiver.

The debtor is limited to the use of their properties, they cannot sell them or act adversely towards them until all debts are cleared and they are discharged from the bankruptcy state.
