Kajiado ODM leaders throw weight behind Sumra

Kajiado County Orange Democratic Movement leaders have vowed to ensure that ODM wins Embakasi South by-elections.

The leaders who accompanied the party candidate Irshad Sumra in presenting his papers to Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) maintained that the party is stronger even after the handshake.

Kajiado Politician Eli Gor said they will camp in the area to ensure ODM takes the seat, the politician said the Nairobi County politics is connected to Kajiado County and most of the leaders have invested in the two counties.

Gor said he will lead the Kajiado group in camping in the constituency in indoor to door campaigns.

ODM deputy party leader Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho said the rival candidates should be prepared for a major fight.

He said Sumra will be used to drive ODM agenda in the constituency. The candidate has been involved in several projects in the county. Sumra. The ย one-time MP was given a direct party ticket for the April 5th by-election.

Wiper had also given a direct ticket to Julius Mawathe whose election of August 8, 2017 was nullified by the Supreme Court last December citing irregularities. Wiper and ODM belong to the Opposition NASA coalition.
