Kajiado County governor candidates incumbent Joseph ole Lenku (ODM) and Dr David Nkedianye (Jubilee)have received support from politicians who lost in party primaries.
Nkedianye seems to be the major beneficiary after receiving support from incumbent Kajiado County women representative Janet Teiyaa who decamped from UDA Party after she lost in nominations to Leah Sankaire.
Teiyaa will now vie for women representative position as an independent candidate, “Evil forces have conspired against us but we are not shaken. It is beyond argument that the nominations held on 14th April, 2022 were characterized by widespread ballot stuffing, fraud and manipulation of results in favour of my competitor,โ Teiyaa said.
In ODM Party incumbent governor Lenku received support from politician Koin Lompo Papaa of Kajiado East.
Lompo was beaten in the just concluded ODM nominations by veteran politician Kakuta Maimai. The governor has promised him speaker position after elections
The governor also received support from nominated MCA Winnie Sein Lanoi who decamped from UDA.The MCA is from Purko Ward in Kajiado Central Constituency.
Kajiado East MP Peris Tobiko is yet to issue a statement on her a move she will take after the UDA nomination which she said was an embarrassment to UDA Party.
โThe nomination exercise in Kajiado was unfortunately tainted by an opponent who chose theft and dictatorship over an honest, clean and fair process,โ she stated. Electorates are now all eyes as they wait for her directive and who Katoo will appoint as his deputy, all other governor candidates had already selected their deputies
