Joshua Kaaka was recently appointed the first Kajiado County Principal Chief. He will be in charge of all county local chiefs and assist the County Commissioner in administrative duties.
The new local chiefs boss will be responsible in promoting cohesion, integration and patriotism to enhance peace and national unity in the whole county.
Among other duties, he will also convene and chair inter-locational security committee meetings, oversee implementing measures and campaign against drug and substance abuse.
He will also be leading in identifying beneficiaries of deceased persons’ estates across Kajiado County in a bid to articulate human rights.
Kaaka, a former Senior Chief was appointed on 2nd of February 2018 as the County Principal Chief after beating thousands of other chiefs who competed for the same position across the county when it was advertised by the Ministry of Interior.
He spoke during his homecoming ceremony recently at his Oloomunyi home in Kajiado Central. The ceremony was attended by the County Governor Joseph ole Lenku, former County Commissioner Harsama Kello, Hellen Nkaiserry among other county leaders.
Speaker after speaker applauded the Principal Chief, saying he deserved the position as his service to the people of Kajiado was exemplary.
Governor Lenku said the County Government will work with the Prinicipal Chief in implementing programmes that touch the locals at the grassroots level.
County Assistant Commissioner Charles Wambogo, called on all chiefs across the county to work with Kaaka.
When making her remarks, Helen Nkaiserry said Kaaka has been serving the communities impartially.
