Security agencies and education stakeholders have been urged to combine efforts to ensure the remaining five per cent of leaners countrywide have returned to school.
Speaking at Ole Tipis Secondary school in Narok North Sub County on January 13, 2021 during his tour to schools to ascertain the level of reporting by leaners and the schools preparedness in observing Covid-19 protocols, Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Education Dr. Belio Kipsang reiterated the need to involve the security officers, chiefs, village elders, teachers and churches to search for the few learners who have not yet resumed learning, a week after the schools countrywide reopened for the second term.
“President Uhuru Kenyatta has already directed that all school going children must report back to school. The government is very much concerned about the five percent that are yet to report, hence we have to do all that it takes to look for them,” said Dr. Kipsang’.
