Groups receive 10 beehives in Loitokitok

A Community Forest Association (CFA) with 25 groups and over 125 members has received 10 bee hives donated by Friends of Karura Forest- FKF to empower their efforts to conserve Loitokitok Forest.

The Initiative is spearheaded by Prof. Karanja Njoroge and Dr. Winnie Kiiru to empower CFA in Kajiado County to conserve forest destroyed by individuals.

The groups have planted more than 500,000 tree seedlings since 2018 in partnership with various organisations in a bid to sustain the Amboseli ecosystem which is keyto tourism attraction  in Kajiado South Sub-county.

CFA chairperson, Emmanuel Mayiani noted that honey has a ready market.
