Political differences between governor Joseph ole Lenku and Ongata Rongai Ward representative Mwathi Pere played out during Lenku’s visit in Rongai Ward to issue bursaries.
According to Lenku the MCA commonly known as Generali had called bursary beneficiaries and directed them not to attend the governor’s meeting.
“You called the parents and told them you are away and there is no such exercise why did you come then,” Lenku questioned the MCA.
The MCA had claimed that the governor was making appearance in Rongai for the first time in four years, he said the governor had neglected the region. A statement that the governor denied noting that he has been holding meetings in the ward.
Pere who is a stanch supporter of gubernatorial aspirant MP Katoo Metito (UDA)also accused Lenku of failing to increasing the amount of money allocated to support education “The amount allocated by this regime is too little we want more money to benefit the locals,” Pere said.

He also said the county graders are sent to his ward without his knowledge and numberplates sealed to prevent interrogation and roads in the ward are in pathetic state.
Lenku said the MCA is the chairperson in County Assembly Roads Committee and should be aware of what is happening and table it in the assembly.
The governor’s team accused the MCAs of lying on amount of bursaries issues, saying more than sh 150 million has been set aside for bursaries comparing to past regime’s sh 40 million.
The governor also issued bursaries in Matasia PCEA that benefited Olkeri, Oloolua and Ngong Wards residents.
The Matasia meeting was not attended by elected MCA Peter Gitau. Most nominated and elected MCAs from Kajiado North have declared support to UDA Party they not attend the event and the governor has been using former leaders and aspirants to hunt for votes.
Former senator Peter Mositet who is vying for MP Kajiado North said the electorates should elect him to take over from MP Joseph Manje who is deputizing former governor David Nkedianye.
The governor was accompanied with executive members, MCA James Waisha, nominated MCA Jebet Kibor, senator aspirant Brian Sekento among others.
The confrontation comes days after the governor team claimed the MCA had decamped to the Lenku’s team. They had shared pictures on social media after the MCA met the governor in the county HQ. The MCA had protested the statements accusing the governor’s team of spreading false information.
