By Our Reporter

Four children have been killed in Ongata Rongai township of Kajiado North Sub-county, bringing the total number of deaths in domestic violence to five in the past one week.

A middle-aged man was found murdered on 4th June together with his two children in what is suspected to be a case of domestic violence.

His body was found dumped at Maasai Lodge while bodies of his children were found inside the house.

According to relatives, the deceased had arrived from abroad a month ago before his wife moved out of their house. She is suspected to have carried out the heinous act.

Two other children are also thought to have been killed by their mother in an incident that took place barely five days later.

The suspect Christine Karimi allegedly stabbed her husband Rodgers Andere three times before turning her ire on their two children aged two and six.

The victim had arrived home late, prompting a bitter argument. He escaped death narrowly after he ran out of the house screaming for help, upon which neighbours took him to hospital for emergency treatment.

The children were not that lucky as the police found them dead in the house.

The couple is now at Kenyatta National Hospital fighting for their lives after she also attempted to kill herself.

Kajiado North Police Commander Hussein Gura said they are still investigating the incident, which he thought may be linked to depression.
